Shopify has over a million businesses on its platform, running more than three and a half million online stores, in 175 countries around the world. And you might be surprised by some of the brands that have chosen to use it.

1. Budweiser

The King of Beers dates back to 1800, but can credit its online success to Shopify. Budweiser has managed to register more-than $11 billion in sales on the Shopify platform, proving without a doubt that, whatever your traffic numbers look like, Shopify has you covered!

2. Kylie Cosmetics

Of course, there is a Kardashian on Shopify. Kylie Jenner (well, ok – not “legally” a Kardashian) is one of the most-followed people on Instagram, with over 206 million followers. She’s also the world’s youngest ever self-made billionaire. So, when she wanted to find an online platform for her cosmetics line, she had the leverage to work with whoever she wanted. Shopify fit the bill, and her 15,000-strong product line sold out within minutes of opening.

3. Nestle

Surprised to find one of the world’s biggest corporations on Shopify? Don’t be – the platform is powerful and adaptable enough to cope with almost any business – including a multi-brand leviathan like Nestle that brings in billions in revenue every year.

4. Tesla

Elon Musk’s clean energy car company is a major headline-maker. The conventional wisdom once said big-ticket purchases like electric cars couldn’t be sold online. But serial entrepreneur Musk doesn’t stick to convention – and Shopify was the perfect platform to help him flout it!

5. The Economist

Shopify provides more than just online retail space – it can also operate subscription models. The Economist is one of the world’s best known business publications, and adds a refreshing touch of class to this list. But the bottom line is all business: the magazine’s entire digital ecosystem, all $300 million in annual revenue of it, is built on Shopify.

6. Heinz

Another old name that's new to Shopify, Heinz was established in 1869, and means more than just beans. Famous for its soups, ketchups, baked beans, and more, Heinz claims to have more-than 150 number one or number two brands worldwide. When the coronavirus pandemic hit, and traditional retail outlets had to shut up shop, Heinz needed a new home for all those brands - Shopify was the obvious answer.

7. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is a musical megastar, and Shopify is her online platform of choice. Her online store hosts apparel and albums, and lets users navigate to curated YouTube playlists of her performances and music videos. Gaga also operates a newsletter and hosts upcoming tour dates on her site, demonstrating why other major players in the music industry (Adele, Taylor Swift, the Jonas Brothers, Billie Eilish, and more) choose Shopify.

8. Hasbro

You might not recognise the name “Hasbro” but you will recognise their intellectual properties. They’re the multinational conglomerate that owns staple kids’ properties Transformer, My Little Pony, Power Rangers, and more. Hasbro has always been a toy seller, and with billions in revenue every year, it’s a very successful one. Where does it sell its toys? Nowadays, Shopify.

9. David Beckham Eyewear

Becks is as famous for his fashion as his football nowadays. And he’s chosen to host his latest looks on Shopify. And he’s not the only fashionable Beckham on the platform – his wife Victoria also hosts her fashion brand on Shopify.

10. The BBC

The BBC is the world’s oldest national broadcaster, and the largest broadcaster by number of employees. It long ago ceased to be a British-only operation, and now has channels and platforms around the world. And in Canada and the US, its merchandise stores are run by Shopify. The BBC is also notable as a big name that jumped ship, having previously used the Magento platform before deciding it needed something better.
